Academic advisors are available for all currently accepted certificate and degree seeking students at BHCC. Depending on academic status, a student may have an assigned advisor, be assigned to an academic department, access online advising, or drop in to talk to an advisor in the Advising/Counseling Center located on the Charlestown Campus in Room B215. The advisor's role includes, but is not limited to, helping students plan their academic course load, monitor their academic progress, and to serve as a resource for career planning and academic and student support services.
For students matriculating in Allied Health, Nursing, Medical Imaging, Respiratory Therapy, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Computer Information Technology and Criminal Justice, group orientations and advising sessions are also available throughout the academic year.
Newly accepted students who are new (either brand new to college or transferring from another college or university) and students who have been readmitted to Bunker Hill Community College following an absence will receive information in their acceptance package about meeting with an academic advisor and registering for courses at a START SMART Session.
